The Council of "El Palau de la Musica de Valencia" has decided to award the spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta with the Gold Medal of this organization. This prize honors very important musicians with a special relationship with the city of Valencia.
The ceremony will take place at the begining of the recital that the soprano will offer in "El Palau de la Música" in 3 March, with the pianist Roger Vignoles.
Other great figures that have recieved this award are Mstislav Rostropóvich (1997), Daniel Barenboim (1998), the mezzosoprano Teresa Berganza (1999), the tenor Alfredo Kraus (2000), the conductor Zubin Mehta (2003) and the composer Cristóbal Halffter (2006).
