In January 2009 Beatriz Díaz was invited by Maestro Riccardo Muti to sing Paisiello’s MESSA DEFUNCTORUM at Salzburger Festspiele, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Festival de Ravenna, where she obtained a big success. She has been also invited by Muti for a concert with the Orchestra Giovanile “Luigi Cherubini”
Her next engagements include Paisiello’s MESSA DEFUNCTORUM again with Riccardo Muti at Piacenza and Udine, L’ELISIR D’AMORE (Adina) at Teatro La Fenice di Venezia and CARMEN (Micaela) at Teatro Comunale di Bologna. She has sung IPHIGENIE EN AULIDE (Diana) at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma conducted by Riccardo Muti, LA BOHÉME (Musetta) at Teatro Carlo Felice de Genova opposite Cristina Gallardo Domas and Massimiliano Pisapia under the direction of Daniel Oren, TURANDOT (Liu) at Bilbao Opera House conducted by Antonello Allermandi, UN BALLO IN MASCHERA (Oscar) at Oviedo Opera House under the baton of Paolo Arrivabeni, IL TUTORE BURLATO and STABAT MATER by Pergolesi at Teatro Real de Madrid, FALSTAFF (Nanetta) at Jerez Opera House and THE LITTLE SWEEP by Britten at Teatro Real de Madrid, Bilbao Opera House and Teatro Comunale di Modena. Her zarzuela performances include LA GENERALA at Théâtre du Châtelet, Oviedo Opera House and Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrd), LA ETERNA CANCIÓN at Perelada Music Festival and at Teatro Español as well as BLACK EL PAYASO again at the Teatro Español. Spanish sprano Beatriz Díaz was born in Boo (Asturias) and studied piano and singig with Elena Pérez Herrera. In 2007 she won the “Francisco Viñas” International Singing Competition: First Prize of the competition, “Plácido Domingo” First Prize to the Best Zarzuela Singer, People’s Choice Awars, “Paloma O’Shea” First Prize” and Sao Paulo Opera Frists Prize. She was also awarded in the International Singing Competitions of Logroño (prizes for the Best Zarzuela Singer and the Most Promising Career), Guerrero and “Julián Gayarre”. She has also studied with Mirella Freni and has received masterclasses of Elena Obraztsova, Montserrat Caballé and Mady Mesplé. |
