Born in Cordoba, Spain, in 1992, he began his violin studies early with his father Francisco Montalvo, a professor at the Conservatory of Cordoba, from whom he has continued to receive his artistically advice.
Since childhood, he has been trained by the most distinguished professors of the renowned Russian, French, German and Italian Schools, regularly studying under Yuri Petrossian and later with Nestor Eidler and Jean-Jacques Katorow or Klaus Peters. He has also received master classes with Victor Pikaizen, Alexander Markov or joel Smirnoff, chair of the Violin Depatment at the Juilliard School of NY, among other great teachers. From the age of eight, he furthers his training in the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory; in the Meadowmount School of Music (USA), and the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, as well as other prestigious institutions in Spain, France, Italy and England. Among the many awards he has received the following stand out: First Prize of Jeunesses Musicales in Malaga, Spain (2003) and later, his selection as first presented by the Stradivari Society in Chicago, among the most outstanding young violinists in the world; also first position for admition to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Moscow; "The award for Best Artist by Public and Critics" in the XI International Competition, " Pedro Bote" of Badajoz-Spain, amongst others. After his debut at age twelve as a soloist with the RTVE Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Adrian Leaper, he has given concerts with the Symphonic of Israel, the National Symphonic Orchestra of Cuba, the Orchestra of Córdoba, the Symphonic Orchestra of Elche, the Chamber Orchestra of the Prince of Asturias, and has been directed by masters such as José Miguel Rodilla, Manuel Hernandez-Silva or Juan Luis González. He has played in the Prince Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo; the Herzliya Center for the Performing Arts in Tel-Aviv; the Teatro-Auditorio Nacional of Cuba; the Concert Hall of The Stradivari Society in Chicago; The Royal Palace of Madrid; the Teatro dell'Aquila in Fermo, Italy; University of North Carolina at (UNC) Charlotte invited by David Russell and the Mozarteum University during the Salzburg Festival presented by Igor Ozim, the Royal Lyceum Social Circle and Gran Teatro of Cordoba, among others. He has been awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture of Spain as "Young Professional of Culture" and by the Prince of Asturias Foundation, The Stradivari Society, the Albéniz Foundation and the Barenboim-Said Foundation, receiving the invitation and support of Daniel Barenboim presented by Mathis Fischer, Co-principal of the Staatskapelle Berlin. He is currently completing his training at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, in Madrid, Spain, with Professor Zakhar Bron. He performs on a Niccolo Amati violin dated 1660. |
