Born in Rome, Roberto Aronica studied with Carlo Bergonzi and then he completed his studies at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. After his debut in RIGOLETTO at the Teatro Municipale in Santiago, Chile, he quickly revealed himself as one of the most interesting voices in the international opera music world. He is a regular guest at the most important opera Houses in the world like: Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Wiener Staatsoper, Opernhaus in Zurich, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Royal Opera House-Covent Garden in London, Opéra Bastille in Paris, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Lyric Opera in Chicago , San Francisco Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Japan Opera Foundation in Tokyo. His vast repertoire includes, among the others: LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, ELISIR D’AMORE, ROBERTO DEVEREUX, TRAVIATA, RIGOLETTO, SIMON BOCCANEGRA,GIANNI SCHICCHI, LA BOHEME, MADAMA BUTTERFLY, WERTHER, FAUST, LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN and DER ROSENKAVALIER. Roberto Aronica collaborated with several important conductors like: R. Abbado, Arena, Bychkov, Benini, Conlon, Gatti, Gelmetti, Levine, Mackerras, Oren, Renzetti e Thielemann. In 2006 he was highly acclaimed for his debut in FAUST at the Teatro Regio in Parma, conducted by M° Renzetti. Also in 2006, he performed the role of Rodolfo in LA BOHÉME at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the role of the Duke of Mantua in RIGOLETTO at the MET, MADAMA BUTTERFLY at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and LA BOHÉME at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago. Later he performed in TRAVIATA at the Deutsche Opera in Berlin and again in LA BOHÉME at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. In 2007 Mr. Aronica performed as Rodolfo in LA BOHÉME with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The role of Rodolfo will also take him back at the Met in June and at the Lyric Opera in Chicago in September. Roberto also performed in LA TRAVIATA in Munich in April, and will be Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY in July at the Teatro Real in Madrid, in LA RONDINE in Torre del Lago in August, followed by another production of LA BOHÉME in La Coruna (Spain) and RIGOLETTO in Lisbon (December). Among his engagements in 2008, he will return to the Deutsche Opera in Berlin with MADAMA BUTTERFLY, role that he will later on perform in Dresden. He will then head to Seville to perform in WERTHER, followed up by his return at the MET with MACBETH and MADAMA BUTTERFLY. In 2009 we underline LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN in Turin, RIGOLETTO in Bologna, while for 2010 SIMON BOCCANEGRA in Madrid, DON CARLOS in Bilbao and later on FAUST in Barcelona. |
