Born in Elda (Alicante). She came into the World of music trough the Polyphony, as a member of the C.E.E’s “Orfeón Polifónico “. She is Bachelor in Philosophy and Literature in Alicante’s University, whom has conceded in 2000 the award “Laurel de Oro de las Artes”. She began her voice training at the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Óscar Esplá” in Alicante, with the soprano Dolores Pérez. She awarded a grant of the C.E.E. , continuing her studies at the “ Escuela Superior de Canto” in Madrid, where she completed her studies with Miguel Zanetti, and won the Special Graduation Award “Lola Rodríguez de Aragón”. Among other prizes, it is worth mentioning the Best Music performance in the IV Bilbao Internacional Singing Contest in Bilbao in 1992, and Second Prize in XXX “Città di Enna” Internacional Singing Contest in Italia in 1993. After performing numerous concerts in France and Germany she made her debut in Palma de Mallorca with Verdi’s Nabucco in 1994. From her great success as Mathilde of Guillaume Tell in San Carlos Theatre in Lisbon in the same year,she was asked to collaborate with several Opera Theatres. Afterwards she has sung in Palma de Mallorca (Don Giovanni, Don Carlo, Adriana Lecouvreur, Mefistofele and Requiem of Verdi); Bilbao (Il Trovatore, Tannhäuser, Les Huguénots, Lucrezia Borgia, Otello and Zigor); Gran Teatre Liceu of Barcelona (Nabucco, La forza del destino, Turandot, Don Carlo, Un ballo in maschera, Le Villi, Roberto Devereux, Norma and María del Carmen); Teatro Real of Madrid (Elektra, La forza del destino, Ildegonda, Don Carlo and Tosca); Valencia (Elektra, Don Giovanni, Don Carlo and Maror); Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Un ballo in maschera); Oviedo (Roberto Devereux, Don Carlo, Anna Bolena, La vida breve and Requiem of Verdi ); Málaga (Requiem of Verdi, La vida breve); Granada’s Festival (Requiem of Verdi); Teatro Maestranza de Sevilla (Elektra); La Coruña (Requiem of Verdi); Santiago de Compostela (Requiem of Verdi); Peralada’s Festival (Requiem of Verdi); Quincena Donostiarra (Don Carlo, Un ballo in maschera, Gala Verdi and Strauss Concert); Murcia (Norma); Alicante (Norma); Hamburgo Staatsoper (Don Giovanni, La forza del destino); Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich (Il Trovatore); Deutsche Oper in Berlín (Aida, Don Giovanni); Zurich Ópera (Il Trovatore Requiem of Verdi); Festpielhaus in Salzburgo (Don Carlo); Ópera du Rhin in Estrasburgo (Don Carlo); Opéra de Marseille (La forza del destino); Maggio Musicale fiorentino (Aida, Il Trovatore), Teatro San Carlo in Lisbon (Guillaume Tell, Aida); Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires (Requiem of Verdi); Metropolitan Opera House in New York (Un ballo in maschera); Ravenna (Requiem of Verdi); Wiesbaden (Un ballo in maschera); Dresde (Norma); Venecia (Goyescas y Le roi de Lahore), etc. In the symphonic-choral repertoire the following performances must be highlighted: Stabat Mater of Dvorak and Te Deum , 9º Simphony of Beethoven, La Mort de Cléôpatre of Berlioz, Vier Letzte Lieder of Strauss, Gloria of Vivaldi, El Pesebre of Pau Casals….and other concerts of spanish music. She has recorded La vida breve of Falla with Max Valdés, El Pessebre of Pau Casals with Lawrence Foster, Maror of Manuel Palau with E. García Asensio, “Concierto Lírico de ópera y zarzuela” in Teatro Real of Madrid with Jesús López Cobos and “Zarzuela” also with E. García Asensio; “El dúo de la africana” (Zarzuela) at Teatro Real, with J. López Cobos, “Clásicos Populares 9” with E. García Asensio, “Divas del Canto” and “Gala Lírica 2” with the Orquesta de RTVE and Odón Alonso, and recently the opera Ildegonda of Arrieta, with J. López Cobos. Ana Mª Sánchez has also collaborated in different specialist journals with articles about the Voice and Singing, and she has made several lectures related to opera themes and singing training. She combines her professional career with teaching Master Classes and she is the Vocal and Stilistic Repertoire teacher at the Musikene (Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco). Since 2002 she is in charge of the Vocal Repertoire Area in Callosa d’ En Sarrià (Alicante, Spain) “Hight musical training for singers”. In february 2005 she has been appointed “ Académica Numeraria” at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos of Valencia (Spain). |
