EMILY BEYNON- ROGER VIGNOLES
EMILY BEYNON- ROGER VIGNOLES - Iberkonzert, Artist Management and Concerts Production
EMILY BEYNON
The Welsh flautist, Emily Beynon was appointed principal flute of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam in 1995 at the age of 25, the first woman and the first non-Dutch player ever to hold this position.

Equally at home in front of the orchestra as in its midst, she has performed concertos with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, The Academy of St. Martin in the fields, The Guildhall String Ensemble, and Vienna, Prague, Netherlands and English Chamber Orchestras.

Emily began her formal musical education as a junior department scholar at the Royal College of Music (London) with Margaret Ogonovsky and from there went on to study with William Bennett at the Royal Academy of Music and with Alain Marion in Paris. She now has a thriving class of her own at The Hague Royal Conservatory with students coming from all over Europe to study with her. In February 2002 she was made a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music.

Also a keen chamber musician, Emily has two regular duo partners: her sister, the harpist Catherine Beynon and the pianist Andrew West. In addition, in recent years she has also performed with the Nash Ensemble, Skampa Quartet, Brodsky Quartet, Steven Isserlis, Dame Felicity Lott, Jean-Yves Tibaudet, Steven Kovacevich and Boris Beresovsky. As a recitalist, she appears regularly in Japan and Europe as well as on BBC Radio 3. She has also appeared in documentaries for Thames Television, BBC Television and AVRO television (Netherlands).

Emily has commissioned and premiered several new works for the flute including “The Magic Flute Dances”, a flute concerto by Jonathan Dove based on themes by Mozart, “Words for my Daughter” by Sally Beamish and “Darker Still” by John Woolrich.
